The coolest bookshelves I have ever seen...

.

I could have a lot of fun with these. There's a bunch of other cool products around on their site as well. I'm fairly sure I could never afford any of them...

Oh man. No line parallel to the floor. Book space leaning and things won't go in straight. Yes, those bookshelves would definately kill me if they were in my home. I can barely look at them on that website without wanting to straighten them all out. But then I have always been the weird one with OCD.

I know what you mean. The "no parallel" thing wouldn't bother me so much, but I would have to spend a long time devising a new book storage/display algorithm that allowed me to logically put the books in the bookshelves according to size rather than my current (admittedly boring and normal) method of alphabetically by author and then by series (if applicable) and then by year of publication.

Books need to be 100% vertical, or when I've run out of shelf space 100% horizontal, resting on the shelf in front of other, vertical books.

Slanty books? I don't think so.

Glad to see we're in agreement on that. And I do agree that they are interesting. As for alphabetizing by author, series, etc... everyone I know makes fun of me for doing that. I think its smart. And organized.

Are these people mad? How else do you store books on a bookshelf? Random order? Just wherever they fit?

I bet they take 10 minutes to find what they are looking for as well. I'm not advocating we all adopt Dewey or Library of Congress (although I have thought about it) but at the very least -some- thought needs to go into these things.
